Sunday Gathering | March 19

Pastor Alicia continues our sermon series, Water for the Way, on John 9:1-41. Pastor Alicia brings us a great message about our place in the community. Are we the blind man sitting outside of town watching and just observing? Are we the blind man who now sees and shares the good news? Or are we the Pharisees who are being the gatekeepers of the community?

We will be at Mesa Christian Academy (7918 E 1st Ave, Mesa, AZ 85208) this next week for Palm Sunday! Will you join us in-person?

Below are the Discussion Questions for this Week

  1. What do you think it meant to those who were with Jesus to be confronted with the reality that neither the man nor his family had sinned and thus shouldn’t be forbidden to worship in the temple?

  2. How do we still judge who can and can’t attend church today?

  3. Why do you think Jesus chose to heal this man on the Sabbath? What sort of boundaries is Jesus crossing? What does this communicate about the kingdom of God?

  4. Where do you find yourself in the community right now?
