August At The Table!
Is it just me, or does the days seem to be going by faster than normal? It is wild to think that we are already eight months through 2024, God continues to bless our church with so many moments to love our neighbors like Jesus loves us.
You’ve Got Mail!
Starting in August we began The Epistles, Paul's letters to the churches throughout Rome. With the power of the internet we were able to summarize the chapters we would cover in each week into a paragraph or two and then had it simplified into a second grade reading level. It’s been an innovative way to teach the children scripture while keeping it relevant to each of them. We created a mailbox and each week our children have been writing letters to people in our church to be delivered the following week.
Pastor Andy joined us in mid August to continue our guest speaking, he is the current worship pastor at Crossroads Nazarene. Other than the terrible directions Pastor Trevor gave him to start, the night went fantastic. It has been wonderful to hear from younger ministers in our district and partner with other churches in our area to develop our pastors.
Everyone loves a good charcuterie board,
One of the fantastic meals we were able to share this month was a creative take on classic charcuterie boards. Pastor Christy encouraged our church to step out of our comfort zone and show some creativity. It was an inter-generational night where the youngest to oldest of our church participated, we even voted on who was best and the winner received a Chick-Fil-A gift card!
Circle Groups,
Pastor Trevor began praying about what was next for our church at the beginning of 2024 and started to see the vision of Circles, your life shared in community. As the months progressed the dream became a reality, and through the joint efforts of Pastor Christy and Joel Messner Circle Groups came to life! We launched on the final Sunday of the month and looked forward to new ways to do ministry together. Check out the Circle Groups tab on the website to learn more!
Three Years!
It is wild to think about how three years ago we launched The Table at the New Hope Community Center, joined by the community, district leadership, friends and family. Each year we seem to find new ways to minister in our modern culture while remaining true to The Gospel and Christ. We have given nearly $5,500 in benevolence to our community in East Mesa and fed people in our church community each Sunday night. God continues to bless our church and we are excited for the years of future ministry ahead of us. Continue to pray with us as we remain faithful to the call God has put on our hearts and as we find new ways to innovate in ministry!
